How to Wash

Caring for a Hip Hat with human hair is similiar to that of any human hair but with two considerations: 1. Treat the hair gently 2. Do not use shampoos or conditioners that contain protein or keratin. Protiens can leach the moisture from the core of the hair, causing a frizzy look. We recommend John Frieda's Frizz- Ease " Curl Around" or "Straight Ahead" shampoo and conditioners. They can be found at any drug store or grocery.

Wash your Hip Hat With Human Hair only as needed. Pour a small amount of shampoo into a sink of cool water. Dip the hair along with the fabric into the solution. Swish gently. Rinse thouroughly in cool running water. Squeese out excess water. Pour a small amount of conditioner into a sink of cool water. Dip the hair portions into the solution. Squeese out excess water but do not rinse. Do not twist hair. Comb out the hair with a pick or wide-toothed comb.

Hip Hats are designed with stretch elastics and fabrics for a gently fit. Some of our customers might prefer an extra secure fit. Two tricks of the trade are double stick wig tape, and "It Stays Body Adhesive". One of our young customers is a cheerleader and can do flips in her Underhair while using "It Stays". She likes this product because it washes off easily with water and does not pull the bit of hair that she has on her scalp.Type it into Google to find several sites that sell it.

Hang wet hair on a wig stand or lay flat to dry. If laying flat, place on a towel with a heating pad under it to speed up drying time. Finger-style the hair in place and let dry. Human hair can also be styled with a blow-dryer or irons, but use heat with caution.  Also recommend are spray-in shine laminators such as Citre Shine, found in most grocery stores.
